Lingyun Xu

Curious Mind | Robotics | Sociology

I am a senior in Zhi Class majoring in Intelligence Science and Technology at the School of EECS of Peking University. I'm currently advised by Prof. Hao Dong at PKU-Hyperplane Lab. As an exchange student at Carnegie Mellon University from January 2025 to June 2025, I was advised by Prof. Guanya Shi at LeCAR Lab. I am applying for the direct Ph.D. program at the Center on Frontiers of Computing Studies (CFCS) in Peking University.

My research interest lies in robotics, including humanoid whole-body control and multi-modal large models for proactive and robust manipulation. I'm specifically exploring reinforcement learning approaches and vision-language-action frameworks to build autonomous robotic systems.

I'm also keen on sociology. Enrolled in Yanfu class, I have conducted two field research projects: one in Chongqing on community building and social mobility among live-in education-support families, and another in Jiangyin on the goverment-leading integration of smart eldercare systems with interpersonal relations.
